Nov 12 What is an Uncruise?

This summer, I had the amazing opportunity to experience and Uncruise adventure in Alaska. Every time I talked to someone about it ahead of time, they immediately asked, "What is an "Uncruise?"" Well to be honest, I didn't have a great answer for them until I had the experience myself, so now I can share!

1. Uncruise is a small ship experience. The Uncruise ships hold 22-88 people! That's it! The ship itself is absolutely small, and you learn your way around fast!

2. Uncruise is totally inclusive.Often on regular cruises, there are many "opportunities" upgrade, which in reality means to spend more money. On Uncruise, it doesn't matter the food you order or the drinks you want to enjoy, it's included! All of the activities and excursions are included (and in Alaska, that's a big deal!).

3. Uncruise is for people who like adventures, but can chose their own level. Every day, you can choose your morning and afternoon activities. There are ones that are very physical or options that are more relaxed. Regardless of your choices, you will have an incredible experience.

4. Uncruise is for getting close to nature. When you are on a small ship, you can literally stop and enjoy the whales! You can go right up to the waterfalls! You can throw down an anchor when conditions are good. It's a wildly different experience where nature is the focus and the ship is a way to get you closer to it.

5. Uncruise is almost like grown up camp!With only about 50 passengers on board, you really feel like you are at grown up camp (with great drinks at the bar!). In the evenings, you watch the scenery and talk about today's adventure while talking about tomorrow's choices. At the end of the voyage, we really felt like a big family!

6. Uncruise is for learning! In the evenings, we would have the staff give us talks about what we were seeing and enjoying. It was a great way to give some context to the adventure!

7. Uncruise is for trying new things!Want to polar plunge into glacial runoff? Do it! Want to try kayaking, but want instruction? Give it a shot! Want to go bushwhacking? Jump in the group tomorrow!

8. Getting close to nature while still enjoying great food and wine. I mean, do I need to say much more here? After a full day of kayaking and bushwhacking, our guide broke out a great Pinot Noir to enjoy in the woods!

9. Uncruise is largely Alaska, but there are tropical options too!I was able to experience Alaska with Uncruise, but I just adore their Hawaii, Galapagos, and Central America options too! Sure would make swimming easier!

10. Uncruise is a totally different adventure. If you are looking for something totally different, and something new, an Uncruise Adventure could be perfect for you!
